What ships now, what is targeted next

The project is at rung 04 of 7 — compression measured in air. Everything on the left exists and can be shown. Everything on the right does not exist yet, and is labelled that way rather than described in the present tense.

Ships now

  1. The model, end to end

Environment, physics, solver, synthesis, compression and the closed loop, all running on the device.

    Measured
  2. Five app screens

Console, Waveform, Echo, Power and Log, each independently demoable.

    Measured
  3. Transmit chain on the bench

DDS through DAC, filter and driver, measured in air.

    Measured
  4. Receive chain in air

Preamp, ADC and matched filter recovering a real echo.

    Implemented
  5. Printed mechanical envelope

Checked against the shipped STL with calipers.

Targeted next

  1. Tank trial

The single highest-value next step. Converts the entire water leg of the signal path from modelled to measured.

    Target
  2. Adaptation demonstrated in water

Turbidity varied in a tank, with the selected centre frequency observed to move the way the sweep predicts.

    Target
  3. Current sensing fitted

An INA226 on the board, so power figures stop being estimates.

    Target
  4. Pressure sealing closed out

Compression glands or a potted bulkhead. The open mechanical risk.

    Target
  5. Open-water range confirmation

Against a known target at the required range.

Why the order

Every work package ends with something you could show. If the schedule runs out at any point, what exists is still a demo rather than a half-built system — which is a scheduling decision, not an accident.

It is also why the tank trial sits at the top of the next list rather than the bottom. It is the cheapest remaining step and it moves more of this site from modelled to measured than anything else available.
